अरहनाथ भगवान का परिचय
इस जम्बूद्वीप में सीता नदी के उत्तर तट पर एक कच्छ नाम का देश है। उसके क्षेमपुर नगर में धनपति राजा राज्य करता था। किसी दिन उसने अर्हन्नन्दन तीर्थंकर की दिव्यध्वनि से धर्मामृत का पान किया, जिससे विरक्त होकर शीघ्र ही जैनेश्वरी दीक्षा धारण कर ली। ग्यारहअंगरूपी महासागर का पारगामी होकर | सोलह कारण भावनाओं द्वारा तीर्थंकर प्रकृति का बंध कर लिया। अन्त में प्रायोपगमन संन्यास के द्वारा मरण करके जयंतिविमान में अहमिन्द्र पद प्राप्त किया।
अरहनाथ भगवान का गर्भ और जन्म
इसी भरतक्षेत्र के कुरुजांगल देश में हस्तिनापुर नगरी है। यहाँ सोमवंश में उत्पन्न हुए काश्यप गोत्रीय राजा सुदर्शन राज्य करते थे। उनकी मित्रसेना नाम की रानी थी। रानी ने रत्नवृष्टि आदि देवसत्कार पाकर फाल्गुन कृष्ण तृतीया के दिन गर्भ में अहमिन्द्र के जीव को धारण किया । उसी समय देवों ने आकर गर्भकल्याणक महोत्सव मनाया। रानी मित्रसेना ने नव मास के बाद मगसिर शुक्ल चतुर्दशी के दिन पुष्यनक्षत्र में पुत्ररत्न को जन्म दिया। देवों ने बालक को सुमेरूपर्वत पर ले जाकर जन्माभिषेक महोत्सव करके भगवान का ‘अरनाथ’ नाम रखा। भगवान की आयु ८४ हजार वर्ष की थी । तीस धनुष ऊँचा अर्थात् १२० हाथ ऊँचा शरीर था। सुवर्ण के समान शरीर की कांति थी ।
अरहनाथ भगवान का तप
भगवान के कुमार अवस्था के इक्कीस हजार वर्ष बीत जाने पर उन्हें मंडलेश्वर के योग्य राज्यपद प्राप्त हुआ, इसके बाद इतना ही काल बीत जाने पर चक्रवर्ती पद प्राप्त हुआ । इस तरह भोग भोगते हुए जब आयु का तीसरा भाग बाकी रह गया, तब शरद ऋतु के मेघों का अकस्मात् विलय होना देखकर भगवान को वैराग्य हो गया। लौकांतिक देवों के द्वारा स्तुत्य भगवान अपने अरविन्द कुमार को राज्य देकर देवों द्वारा उठाई हुई ‘वैजयंती’ नाम की पालकी पर सवार होकर सहेतुक वन में पहुँचे। तेला का नियम कर मगसिर शुक्ला दशमी के दिन रेवती नक्षत्र में भगवान ने जैनेश्वरी दीक्षा धारण कर ली। पारणा के दिन चक्रपुर नगर के अपराजित राजा ने भगवान को आहारदान देकर पंचाश्चर्य प्राप्त किया ।
अरहनाथ भगवान का केवलज्ञान और मोक्ष
जब भगवान के छद्द्मस्थ अवस्था के सोलह वर्ष बीत गये, तब वे दीक्षावन में कार्तिक शुक्ल दशमी के दिन रेवती नक्षत्र में आम्रवन के नीचे तेला का नियम लेकर विराजमान हुए और घातिया कर्मों का नाशकर केवली बन गये । देवों ने आकर समवसरण की रचना करके केवलज्ञान की पूजा की। भगवान के समवसरण में तीस गणधर, पचास हजार मुनि, साठ हजार आर्यिकाएँ, एक लाख साठ हजार श्रावक, तीन लाख श्राविकाएँ असंख्यात देव – देवियाँ और संख्यातों तिर्यंच थे। इस तरह बारह सभाओं से घिरे हुए भगवान अरनाथ ने बीस हजार नौ सौ चौरासी वर्ष केवली अवस्था में व्यतीत किये।
जब एक माह की आयु शेष रही, तब भगवान सम्मेदशिखर पर जाकर प्रतिमायोग से स्थित हो गये। चैत्र कृष्ण अमावस्या के दिन रेवती नक्षत्र में रात्रि के पूर्व भाग में सम्पूर्ण कर्मों से रहित अशरीरी होकर सिद्धपद को प्राप्त हो गये। ये अठारहवें तीर्थंकर अरनाथ सातवें चक्रवर्ती थे। तीर्थंकर से पूर्व तीसरे भव में ये भगवान धनपति नाम के राजा थे, दीक्षा लेकर सोलहकारण भावनाओं के बल से तीर्थंकर प्रकृति का बन्ध कर लिया था पुनः जयन्त विमान में अहमिन्द्र हुए, वहाँ से आकर अरनाथ तीर्थंकर हुए हैं । इनका मत्स्य का चिन्ह है।
इन अरनाथ के भी गर्भ, जन्म, तप और केवलज्ञान ये चारों कल्याणक हस्तिनापुर नगर में ही हुए हैं। इनको मुक्त हुए लगभग सौ अरब, पैसठ लाख, छ्यासी हजार, पाँच सौ वर्ष व्यतीत हो चुके हैं।
ये अठारहवें तीर्थंकर अरनाथ भगवान सदा हम सबकी रक्षा करें।

Introduction of shree1008 of Lord Arah Nath
In the continent of Jambudvipa, there is a country named Kachchh on the northern bank of the Sita River. A wealthy king named Raj ruled in its city of Kshemapur. One day, he heard the divine sound of Arhannandan Tirthankar and drank the nectar of righteousness, which led him to renounce worldly life and quickly take up the Jain vow. He crossed the ocean of eleven senses and bound the nature of the Tirthankar with sixteen reasons. Finally, through the path of renunciation, he attained the position of Ahmindra in the celestial vehicle of Jayantivimana after death.
Conception and Birth of Shree1008 of Lord Arah Nath
In the land of Kurujangal in Bharatkshetra, there is a city called Hastinapur. King Sudarshan, belonging to the Kashyap lineage of the Somavansh dynasty, ruled there. His queen was named Mitrasena. On the third day of Falgun Krishna Tritiya, the queen conceived the soul of Ahmindra in her womb after receiving divine honors such as a shower of gems. At that time, the gods came and celebrated the auspicious event of conception. After nine months, on the fourteenth day of the bright fortnight of Margashirsha, under the Pushya Nakshatra, the queen gave birth to a jewel of a son. The gods took the child to Mount Sumeru and celebrated his birth with a grand coronation ceremony, naming him ‘Aranath’. The age of the Lord was 84,000 years. His body was thirty bows tall, meaning 120 cubits tall. His body radiated a glow as brilliant as gold.
Penance of Shree 1008 Arah Nath Bhagwan
After spending twenty-one thousand years in the stage of a prince, Lord attained the worthy kingdom of Mandaleshwar. After spending the same duration again, He attained the position of a Chakravarti. As He was enjoying worldly pleasures, when one-third of His lifespan remained, He suddenly felt detachment upon witnessing the dissolution of the autumn clouds. Praised by the celestial beings, Lord bestowed the kingdom upon His noble son Aravind Kumar and, riding on a palanquin named ‘Vaijayanti’, lifted by the celestial beings, He reached the Sahetu forest. Observing the rule of fasting, on the day of Margashirsha Shukla Dashami, under the Revati Nakshatra, Lord took the Jaineshwari Diksha. On the day of Parana, the unconquered king of Chakrapur city offered alms to Lord, thereby obtaining the five great vows.
Shree 1008 Arah Nath Bhagwan Kevalgyana and Moksha
After spending sixteen years in the stage of invisibility, when the Lord reached the age of twenty-one thousand years, He undertook the vow of renunciation in the month of Kartik, on the tenth day of the waxing moon, under the Revati Nakshatra, beneath the Amravan tree. By observing the rule of fasting, He destroyed all sinful deeds and became a Kevali. The celestial beings then came and celebrated the Samavasarana, worshiping the omniscient Lord. In the Samavasarana of the Lord, there were thirty Gandharas, fifty thousand Munis, sixty thousand Aryikas, one lakh sixty thousand Shravaks, three lakh Shravikas, countless gods and goddesses, and numerous animals. Thus, surrounded by twelve assemblies, Lord Aranath spent twenty-nine thousand nine hundred eighty-four years in the Kevali state.
When one month of His lifespan remained, the Lord went to Mount Sammed Shikhar and attained the Siddha Pad, being free from all karma and forms, on the night before Chaitra Krishna Amavasya, under the Revati Nakshatra. These eighteenth Tirthankaras, Aranath, were the seventh Chakravarti. Prior to becoming Tirthankaras, in the third era, these Lords were kings named Dhannpati, who, by taking the vow of renunciation and through the power of sixteen causes, bound the nature of Tirthankaras. They ascended to the Jayant Vimana once again and became Tirthankaras there. They are marked by the symbol of a fish.
The conception, birth, penance, and attainment of omniscience of these Aranaths occurred in the city of Hastinapur. They have been liberated for approximately one hundred billion, sixty-six million, eighty thousand, five hundred years. May these eighteenth Tirthankaras, Lord Aranath, always protect us all.
